For the 1911 Durbar, visiting princes and other dignitaries set up tents in a luxury campsite. Each was decorated to reflect their provinces's signature artistry or craft tradition. Around 300,000 people were put up in the camp during the event. Delhi at the time had a population of around 400,000.
